Xpeng Motors has unveiled the prices and specifications of all versions of the P7 sedan.
Chinese startup Xiaopeng Motors has announced the start of sales of the P7 electric car. The base three-volley with a length of 4880 millimeters with a 266-horsepower electric motor was estimated at 240 thousand yuan (about 2.13 million rubles). Prices for a comparable-sized Tesla Model S sedan in the Middle Kingdom will start from 794 thousand yuan (about 7.04 million rubles).
The initial version of the Xpeng P7 has rear-wheel drive and is equipped with a single electric motor (266 horsepower, 390 Nm of torque), and a battery capacity of 81 kilowatt-hours provides a range of 550 kilometers on the NEDC cycle. The streamlined body is predicted an aerodynamic drag coefficient equal to Cx = 0.236.
Already in the basic configuration, buyers are available frameless doors, expensive finishing materials, a virtual dashboard with a 10.25-inch display and a multimedia system with a 14.97-inch monitor, which can be controlled using touchpads. In addition, for the electric car, a third-level autopilot with the function of automatic parking and independent movement along the highway is announced.
According to the dynamic characteristics and price, the nearest rival of the “seven” will be the localized Tesla Model 3 with a starting price of 356 thousand yuan (about 3.16 million rubles at the current exchange rate). The base American sedan is almost 200 millimeters shorter and able to drive 100 kilometers less on a single charge.
For those for whom 550 kilometers is not enough, Xpeng Motors will offer a more capacious battery, which will increase the maximum travel distance to 650 kilometers. The exact characteristics of such an electric car have not yet been disclosed, but it is known that the “long-range” sedan is also limited to rear-wheel drive and a single electric motor. The increased battery will increase the starting price by 30 thousand yuan to 270 thousand yuan (about 2.4 million rubles).
The most productive and expensive sedan with a twin-engine 430-horsepower (660 Nm of torque) power plant, all-wheel drive and autonomy of 550 kilometers costs 370 thousand yuan (about 3.28 million rubles). This version can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.3 seconds.
Xpeng plans to begin shipping P7 sedans in the second quarter of 2020. The young company has high hopes for the three-volume, because the G3 crossover found only 15 thousand buyers in two years.
As the Chinese authorities systematically reduce budget subsidies for the purchase of electric cars, local manufacturers of environmentally friendly cars are forced to look for other markets for products. It is possible that Xpeng Motors will try to offer the P7 sedan in European countries.
