Elon Musk on his OpenAI bashing spree took potshots on Microsoft last week. He alleged the Silicon Valley giant of breaching trust on Twitter with ‘unauthorized use’ of user data. Per, Elon Musk’s personal lawyer Alex Spiro’s letter dated 18th May, 2023, on the billionaire’s behalf, the Satya Nadella led company was in violation of multiple provisions of Twitter’s developer agreement. Earlier in April, Elon had threatened to sue Microsoft over its Twitter data usage. However there was no supporting evidence attached to Musk’s claims. Besides the data usage allegations, Elon Musk accused Microsoft of controlling Sam Altman’s OpenAI. In a CNBC interview, Musk also asserted that he was the reason OpenAI even exists.



Speaking at a CNBC programme, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella finally remarked on Twitter’s new overlord’s charges. He said that he has the utmost respect for the man. However, his claims are without any merit. Nadella said that it was factually an incorrect assertion by the billionaire. He praised OpenAI’s vision and its pride in being led by a non-profit organization. What Microsoft’s association with the artificial intelligence company is a mere collaboration. A great commercial partnership if you will. We have a non-controlling interest, the Microsoft boss stated. Nadella said that he was quite comfortable in partnering with a capped profit company.
