TomTom closes deal with Huawei .

Now on Huawei smartphones will be TomTom maps and services .The Dutch company TomTom, a navigation and digital mapping company, today announced the completion of a deal with the Chinese company Huawei Technologies. As a result, TomTom cards and services will be available in applications for Huawei smartphones.

Huawei was forced to develop its own operating system for smartphones, after last year the US Presidential Administration blacklisted it because of concerns about national security.

Then Huawei lost the opportunity to use the Google Android operating system and widely used applications such as Google Maps in the new smartphones.

The deal with TomTom means that now Huawei can use the Dutch company’s maps, traffic information and navigation software to develop applications for their smartphones.
