JD.com reportedly claimed on Saturday Morning that Apple’s iPhone SE had Exceeded 340,000 preorders
A Chinese report posted on Saturday by the TMG media Group claimed that “As of this morning, the reservation volume of the new generation iPhone SE on the JD.com platform has exceeded 340,000, and this new model will officially start pre-sale at 20:01 tonight.”
In addition, JD.com has also launched a plan to maintain and renew relevant models for new models. Users participating in the iPhone SE Value Preservation and Renewal Program enjoy full discounts for the purchase of the next generation iPhone. During the pre-sale period (4.17-4.24), you can enjoy a discount program, and you can enjoy a 30% discount during the initial period.”
Patently Apple first posted a report back on April 8th pointing to JD.com having a program of delivering an iPhone order to a customer’s home and offering a trade-in deal on the spot.
It was reported back in September 2019 by Gischina that there were around one million iPhone 11 preorders. That was for 3 distinct iPhone 11 models. On that basis, it would seem that 340-350,000 preorders for the iPhone SE would be considered a strong beginning considering that the reported tally is supposedly from a single online supplier.
We may get a better reading on the success of the iPhone SE in China during Apple’s Financial Conference Call on April 30 when CEO Tim Cook is scheduled to make his opening statement for fiscal Q2 2020. So stay tuned.
