Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Inc, responded to a recent post by Shibetoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonym of Dogecoin creator Billy Markus, who poked fun at the recently sent open letter by Hollywood celebrities amid the Israel-Hamas crisis.
What Happened: The post by Nakamoto took a swipe at Hollywood celebrities, saying President Joe Biden forwarded their open letter to Hamas, who were touched by it and decided to retreat their forces.
“joe biden forwarded the letter from all these celebrities to hamas, who were so touched by their conviction and empathy that they instantly returned all the hostages and gave them all olive garden gift cards thank you guys, you really made a difference,” the post read.
Musk replied to the post, “They live a sheltered life.”

Why It Matters: Musk’s response comes in the wake of an open letter to President Biden from a bevy of Hollywood celebrities. The letter appealed for continued attention on hostages in Gaza during the Israel-Hamas conflict.
The letter, signed by stars such as Bradley Cooper, Amy Schumer, and others, was part of an initiative organized by a group of Hollywood leaders called “No Hostage Left Behind.”
